Why does SAFE fundraise? To support local efforts like this. Have you seen these yard signs around town? SAFE purchased the signs with funds donated by supporters.
Why does SAFE fundraise? We see reasonable, community-minded, non-partisan people stepping up to learn how to become a candidate in the next election cycle... we want to be in a position to help support those local candidates when they run.

They are collecting signatures to put three school board members back on the ballot in November:
Despite widespread and very public opposition of the Alpena community, these school board members have denied students an outdoor education opportunity that would cost the district nothing, awarded a contract to a company that did not submit the lowest bid for work, and wasted tax payer dollars by hiring a second, unneeded law firm. One board member is chronically absent, missing 30% of meetings they were elected to attend.
These board members are not supporting our students and have created a circus atmosphere at the public meetings.
