Sunrise Alliance for Equity (S.A.F.E.) formed when a few local northeast Michigan professionals, deeply concerned with the attacks on our local library and our schools, approached each other with the idea of starting a political action committee.

 

The idea is simple; to combat attacks on our community resources and to support candidates and policies that build a more balanced, transparent, and and well-rounded local government.

 

We don't back parties, we back people.

 

We are a political action committee, but we are free from party affiliation. We back any local candidate and issue that follows the pillars of our mission: 

• Intellectual Freedom - protect our public library

• Educational Opportunity for All - keep our public schools free from politics and personal agendas and focused on student success

• Environmental Stewardship - protecting our natural resources for future generations
